Workbench Wednesday

Here is an actual picture of my workbench:

Currently i assemble the last pieces of my second Sorylian Core Helix box. The light skimmers and infantry is done. The Huk'ka waits to be glued to its base. The Bor'Kas are cleaned and washed. The medium skimmer will need some green stuff, because the aft had a large air bubble which i found when cutting away the resin remains from the casting. Had the same to be done with the Huk'ka. Will do this when i fill the gaps in the infantry bases.

The work should be done till friday, because saturday is club time and there is a warm place for priming the minis.

Regards and stay tuned for updates.

Recon Helix finished

Finished my Sorylian Recon Helix this weekend and took some pictures.

The skiff was the first piece completed.

The Jag'gors took a little longer. I remembered the reason why i dont play tabletop games with mass armies. :) And here there were only eight.

Had them only blue/grey at first. But they looked so plain without the "eye" the other walkers had. So i painted a front panel of the hull with a glowing effect.

Now they only need some varnish to be finished.

Regards and stay tuned for updates.

Feeling a little demotivated

Hi all, just some plain text, no pictures.

Do you know the situation, when there are masses of minis on your workbench, waituing for you to splatter some paint on them? And you can not motivate you to answer their calls? Now i am hit by this. I don't have the time to play with my toys, so why should i paint them? And then the build-up campaign, forcing me to paint the same scheme over and over again, on the same minis. Don't get me wrong, the heavy sorylian infantry are some of the coolest minis i have to paint for my planetfall force. But eventually these get old to.

I hope it gets better next week. Already made up a game for saturday, really anticipate it. I plan on getting some nice pics and make a batrep.

Havent decided yet what the next 850 points will be for the campaign, i think one more huk'ka and, again :( , heavy infantry.

If this campaign is over, i think i will start my mounted warriors for my saga warband. Or plan my Next-Year-Project, a Dead Mans Hand diorama with the Black Scorpion mexicans i purchased at the CRISIS convention.

So, on to the workbench, preparing and gluing the remaining sorylians, that this part of hobby work gets done till christmas. :)

How do you handle those situations?

Regards and stay tuned for updates.

Workbench Wednesday

Yeah, i am lazy. :)

Here is the wednesday shot of my workbench:

As you can see, the paint station is nearly empty. Finished the last squadron of Ja'Gors (will put up some pics at the weekend). Now only the infantry upgrades are left.

Next to the paint station are the next miniatures, waiting to be primed and painted. They will be my next 800 points for our build-up campaign. (here the link to the rules, if you understand german :) )

Regards and stay tuned for updates.

Workbench Wednesday

This time a again on wednesday. :)

The first squadron of Ja'Gors is completed, waiting for the grass on the base. Perhaps i can finish them, after the little one hits bed this evening. The second sqaudron is in the paint shop and has the first paint splattered on them.

Will have a game with them on friday and i promise to take pictures and write a battle report. :)

Regards and stay tuned for updates

Travel Report Crisis 2015

Was on a trip this weekend. Got some friends, a car and off we went to a convention, everyone knows and loves.

We got there friday evening and got the chance to walk around while the traders and clubs set up their tables. One of us even got his first shoppings done. :)

Next day arrived at Crisis and only 200 people were before us in the line... and 1000 behind us. We took our time to look around and in the end stayed six hours. I got me some new toys, watched the Perrys sculpt and was impressed by some of the game tables, especially the Dust table and the Frostgrave table, wonderful pieces.

Great convention, i think i will be back next year.

On a side note, what are the gulls eating here?

Workbench Wednesday

Yeah, i know, its Thursday. :)

Currently working on the next squadron of my recon helix, basic colors and a shade are applied to the Ja'Gors, next step will be some drybrushing and weapons. Also there are some infantry upgrades, sweeper teams, which got some color while i had to wait for the Ja'Gors drying.

If you come here every week, you will have noticed my newest piece on the workbench, a DIY paint rack. Had some material left over from a Heerschau project from last year and used my leet engineering skillz to build me something useful.
